When you use Kilo, we collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the app:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile data: Height, weight, age, gender, and activity level — used solely to calculate your personalised calorie targets.
  • Food log data: Meals and foods you log, serving sizes, and timestamps.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version — used for technical support and crash reporting.
  • Usage analytics: Anonymous, aggregated data about feature usage — used to improve the app. This data cannot be tied to any individual user.

We do not collect your location, contacts, camera roll, or any data beyond what is required for the app to function.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Kilo service, including calculating your calorie goals and storing your food logs.
  • To personalise your experience — for example, remembering your preferred language (Arabic or English) and your recent foods.
  • To send you service notifications — for example, reminders to log meals, if you have enabled them.
  • To improve our Saudi food database based on anonymised, aggregated usage patterns.
  • To respond to your support requests.

We will never use your health or food data for advertising profiling, nor share it with advertisers.

3. Data Storage and Security

All personal data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3 or higher). We apply industry-standard security practices including access controls, regular security audits, and anomaly detection.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access all data we hold about you via Settings → Account → Data & Privacy → Export My Data.
  • Correct inaccurate profile data directly in the app.
  • Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and processed within 30 days.
  • Opt out of non-essential analytics in Settings → Privacy → Analytics.

6. Children's Privacy

Kilo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately at support@kiloapp.sa.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify you within the app or by email.
